Paternity

The quest in search of one's identity
Begins again with one's paternity,
As Cronus saw when his sharp sickle tried
To slice his fathers glory and his pride
Only to be displaced by his own son.
And Ham's true disrespect in poking fun
At naked Noah was to curse offspring
That may not have felt such a servile sting
Had he noticed the ways that chains can flow,
Twisting together those that came and those that go.
