As if it was a thing animated and
Capable of controlling her and ordering in some way
As if it had a mouth, slow and deliberate
speaking: feed me, feed us.
As if it had watery eyes and watched her
except when she didn't need the guilt to act.
As if it had no ears to listen to her
brief protestations as she finally gives in.
