Family

We view our family as distinct
Yet still the universal analogues remain:

Observe the fertile ferns of any grove
Or sea foam rising in some fecund form
As in the desert sands or mountain peaks
A mother and a father raise
Their sunburnt cheeks and kiss
The child that we all become
